Schema Therapist & Supervisor

Dr Jo White, Clinical Psychologist, Advanced Certified Schema Therapist/Supervisor

My name is Jo and I train and support psychologists and therapists to confidently use schema therapy to help people with complex and chronic difficulties. I am passionate about developing the reach of schema therapy in the UK and across international communities, firstly to build the confidence of psychologists and therapists who feel overwhelmed by the complex difficulties their clients experience. And secondly, to improve outcomes for individuals who haven't benefitted from CBT or skills-based interventions, and as a result may experience stigma in mental health services and find themselves labelled as ‘untreatable’.

What is Schema Therapy?

Schema Therapy is an integrative model with a focus on emotions and unmet psychological needs. Individuals are understood as having developed coping modes to survive needs not being met. The

therapy works with the different parts of the self to develop new, healthy ways of coping.

Certification in Schema Therapy

If you are looking for schema therapy training, you'll find details of how to join the certification programme we are running in collaboration with Dr Arnie Reed, ISST Trainer/Supervisor, here.

Schema Therapy Supervision

I supervise a skilled network of psychologists across the UK, individually and in groups. I provide a safe space where the struggles of therapy and those we experience personally can be understood and held gently, supporting the practice of schema therapy which demands a huge emotional investment by the therapist.
