Dr Andrea Herbert, Clinical Psychologist, Certified Schema Therapist & Postgraduate Certificate in Compassion Focused Therapy
Dr Jo White,
Clinical Psychologist, Advanced Certified Schema Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer

This immersive, experiential workshop is designed for schema therapists who want to expand their therapeutic toolkit by integrating the powerful methods and wisdom of Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). While schema therapy offers a robust framework for working with maladaptive modes, CFT adds a deeply embodied approach to cultivation of the Healthy Adult through compassion.

Why schema therapists will want to attend:
-
Deepen your work with the Healthy Adult mode: CFT provides powerful practices for strengthening affiliative emotions, working with self-criticism, and developing courage and wisdom—enhancing the Healthy Adult beyond cognitive and experiential techniques commonly used in schema therapy.
-
Enrich experiential exercises and imagery work: CFT’s compassionate experiential exercises provide schema therapists with additional, evidence-informed strategies for emotional change.
-
Strengthen your own therapeutic presence: The workshop emphasises the therapist’s compassionate mind as a key change agent, helping clinicians embody the qualities that activate safety and promote healing in mode work.

This is a highly experiential workshop designed to help you feel and practice the integration—not just understand it. Through guided exercises, demonstrations, compassion-based practices, and practical skills training, you will leave with a stronger, more embodied Healthy Adult approach that can transform your clinical work.
